In Memory of Casey J. Toliver

In the early hours of Friday, November 25, 2016 I received the most dreaded phone call any sister could ever receive; my brother Casey J. Toliver had passed. This is a tragedy to all of the people who knew Casey and were touched with his generosity, compassion, kindness, love and endless smiles. However, the amazing qualities that made up my baby brother Casey, were a mask to the pain & suffering he endured every single day because of addiction & depression. Casey never wanted to burden his family with his pain but regardless; as a family, we always fought for him, offered support, & tried to guide him towards the road to recovery.
Over the last few months Casey was moving towards that direction, finally reaching out for help wanting to change his life and start living the life that he deserved. Three weeks ago Casey had hope of getting clean one last time and made his own appointments with a doctor who was helping him to stop this cycle; Casey had an appointment set for Friday, December 2, 2016 where he had made the personal choice to receive an opiate blocking implant, but in the end the demons he carried proved to be too much, and in an act of deperation he took his own life. Casey was an amazing human being who despite the pain he carried never wanted it to affect the ones he loved. But in the end, addiction and depression affects those you love regardless.

" They dont know how truly sorry I am of the misery I have put them through ... Ive lost my compsure to write, so in conclusion, tomorrow ; I kick, followed by doing something oh so foriegn, taking the difficult steps towards a different direction, a positive direction. I want something real, an actual life worth living"
We are starting this Go Fund Me where a portion of the funds raised will help pay for Traumatic grief counseling for immediate members of Caseys family, the rest will go to a charity or addiction program which provides support to individuals who also suffer from this terrible disease.
