In memory of Alec Tsircou

Donation protected
Alec Tsircou was a dear friend and roommate to my son, Robert “Joseph” Snider; they had met in elementary school and remained best friends through high school and into adulthood. On Sunday, June 23rd, 2019, Alec felt his burdens were too great and left this life. He leaves behind family and a vast group of friends, all feeling emotionally distraught after losing someone so close to their hearts. Alec loved surrounding himself with cultures both his and otherwise, immersing himself in countless readings on culture, language, music, anime, history, political theory and art.
About one month ago, Alec accidentally sparked a small fire on the balcony of his apartment, the lease of which was shared with Joseph and two other friends, Skye and Isaiah. The costs of the damage were estimated to be anywhere from $1500-$5000 dollars. After years of stress and issues with mental health, the debt caused by the fire placed even more weight on his shoulders, something he believed was too much to bear. Now, in the wake of Alec’s passing, the roommates are left with the financial burden of the additional rent for the 6 months left on their lease. Despite their explaining the extenuating circumstances, the apartment complex has demanded Joseph, Skye, and Isaiah pay for the balcony repairs and refused to allow them to break the lease and find another housing situation better suited for them.
The boys are now left between a rock and a hard place, trying to balance work, grief, the stress from their housing situation, and their upset knowing they have no way to celebrate the life of the loved one they lost. The boys want desperately to have a celebration of life for Alec for any and all searching for a way to show their love for the beautiful young man he was and to show his family just how many hearts he touched.
The donations surely won’t erase the upset, but they will remove the additional stress from the demands of their living situation; give them a chance to properly grieve without fear of eviction; and allow them to fund an event for Alec so his close friends and family have a chance to say their goodbyes.
