In Memoriam Fund for Feliks Garcia

Our beloved friend Feliks passed away unexpectedly on Friday night from heart complications. We remember his amazing way of connecting people across cities and friend groups (San Francisco, Texas, New York), his deep love for his cats (Murderface, Pickle, and Humphrey), his hilarious tweets, his commitment to social justice, his insightful journalism both for The Independent and on his personal projects, such as the lovely radio special he created, Mostly Honest (of which he was extremely proud!).

We will be having an intimate and informal memorial in New York on Wednesday night, but we also wanted to provide an outlet for everyone from near and far to remember him in a way he would have appreciated.

If you know anything about Feliks, you know that he loved his cats.

Every donation from here will go directly to the Austin Animal Center, an organization that Feliks greatly supported  and where he volunteered many a time.

Any amount is a help and an honor in his memory. Please also feel free to donate to social justice causes of immigration reform and journalistic freedom in his name.
