In Honor of Coach Chris Corsa

Today, April 22, 2017, the world lost one of its biggest hearts. Chris Corsa, husband of his high school sweetheart Pia, and father of Caroline and Danielle, passed quietly in his sleep.
Chris was a lifelong resident of the Bronx, NY where he attended and played football for Lehman High School. Little did Chris know he would always be involved in sports, but it was to be in softball.
Chris started coaching the Pelham Bay Belles in 2006, including coaching two all-star teams. He also coached Throggs Neck Girls’ Softball League for three summer seasons, which led to three championships. Chris joined Diamond Dolls Fastpitch Softball in the fall of 2010, coaching at the 14u level, where he continued to make a difference in the lives of young women of all ages. Coach Chris had a genuine love for each of the girls whether or not they were on his team, and he encouraged each and every one of them to be the best player they could be. He was always enthusiastic and eager to contribute his ideas to the organization as a whole, and was excited when DD President Anthony Falciglia let him know he was going to be the “conditioning guy” at each of the upcoming summer practices, as Chris was a person who loved his workouts. His three girls, Pia, Caroline and Danni meant everything to him, but each Doll past and present also had a little piece of Chris’ heart.
Chris completed his schooling at the NYC District Council of Carpenters Labor Technical College and has worked in construction ever since. Without Chris, it is not going to be easy in any way for the Corsa girls. We are reaching out to all who have been touched by Chris to please dig deep and help us to help his family.
