This is the program that I will be attending an Experiential Education trip with to the Middle East in order to study conflict resolution in the context of Israel and Palestine.
I am a twenty year old second year student at the University of California, Irvine campus majoring in both Psychology & Social Behavior (School of Social Ecology) and Anthropology (School of Social Sciences) with a minor in Medical Humanities. The Olive Tree Initiative, under my secondly listed school, has given me the opportunity to travel to Washington D.C., New York, Jordan, Israel, and the West Bank this summer to gain firsthand knowledge and experience concerning Israel and Palestine conflict and resolution. After earning my Bachelor's degree I plan to devote more of my life to conflict resolution thus this trip being critically important and helpful to my future and overall purpose. I intend to make this trip a case study for me to reference back to in my later analysis of conflicts both on a more intimate scale (psychology) as well as a larger societal scale (anthropology). I will be departing for this trip August 17th and coming back home September 8th.
I would love to give a detailed breakdown of this trip's individual expenses for full disclosure and clarity- but unfortunately (unfortunately for transparency purposes) the administrators are independently booking flights and the entire itenary for the students therefore leaving me with an ignorance in how the payments are exactly split up. Under "Updates" I have posted the email concerning costs.
All help is greatly appreciated, I do work part time (at Chipotle) in addition to being a full time student, but my personal funds are seemingly insufficient in making this trip possible! Thank you for anything and everything.
