Iliad: The Musical

$20,000 goal

Campaign created 1 month ago
Iliad: The Musical is a hip hop opera of Homer's epic story about the Trojan War, set to original music by Sean Michael McGowan.

The initial cost of the musical is $20,000. This goal, when reached, will enable the theatrical licensing of the musical for schools, nonprofits, and community groups around the world.

Once this initial goal is met, all further funds raised will go to the sales & distribution of theatrical resources to communities in need.  Here's how it works: A public grant application process allows anyone to apply for free theatrical licensing on behalf of their community. Each grant request includes the cost of the licence and printed materials, say $500 for a small production. When the cost of the first qualified grant is raised, that first grant is honored (meaning, the theatrical licenses and all printed materials are sent to the community free of charge).  When the cost of the second qualified grant is raised, the second grand is honored, and so on.
