Women matter. And the very first step ensuring that is healthcare. No woman should be forced to relinquish control over her own body, no matter the ideology or personal beliefs government pursues or holds. Women needs to be informed about, educated on, and allowed to make the decisions about their health. And this is in jeopardy under the Trump presidency.
Simply put, we believe a group of men shouldn’t be allowed to make decisions about women’s bodies. Whatever form that may take, from overt legislation to covert defunding of services aimed at providing women’s healthcare we’ll stand up against it. Through Planned Parenthood, one of the oldest and most respected organizations focusing on this topic, we can keep fighting and provide services to women all over America.
Planned Parenthood was founded on the revolutionary idea to think women should have the freedom to control their own bodies. A hundred years later, this idea is still not self-evident — in fact it’s turning into revolutionary in the eyes of government again.
