IG NYC Fights With Roman!

Donation protected
What it means to be a part of the Insight Global family, either as an employee, contractor, or client, is taking care of one another. Recently, one of our loyal and talented contractors, Ricky,  informed us that his son, Roman, is fighting a rare cancer called Rhabdomyosarcoma. Because of this, he and his family are making sacrifices to make sure that he receives the best care possible, which means taking time out of work to be with Roman.  As a member of our IG family, we want to help Ricky  and his family in any way that we can to support them and surround them with love during this difficult time.

Please consider donating and read Roman's story below.

"Hello,

So about 2 1/2 months ago I took my 4 year-old son to the hospital for what I thought was a very severe sinus infection. After a few days there, he was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare tumorous cancer that usually grows in muscle tissue, but this tumor decided to grow in his sinuses. He had surgery to have the tumor removed but with the fragile location of the tumor, obviously, they couldn't get all of it out. So since early November, we are having to go through weekly chemo treatments for the next 42 weeks and 12 weeks that, he has to do daily radiation treaments for the following 6 weeks.

I thought I would be able to handle this without taking too much time off, but during the 6 week radiation period, someone will have to be with him all day. My son and I live in Connecticut, but his treatment will be done either at the Proton Center in Harlem or Bostons Cancer Center. We're still deciding what is the best option. So far a rough plan is that my Ex-wife and I alternate weeks during this 6 week period, so that one parent can care for Roman while the other stays with his twin sister Lucille. Luci is still in school and has a good support system at home, so I can still work while I have Luci, but with Roman I wouldn't be able to.

So... I was hoping maybe I could sign up for FMLA just to help me keep my job, because I really like what I do. I'd hate to lose everything I've built here over the last year+ because I need off a few weeks.

Doctors believe with all these treatments Roman will be cured by the end of Summer 2020. So any good vibes you want to pass my way, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Thank you for reading.

Ricky"
