If you give a mouse a wheelchair

Some say asking for help when you're the one who usually does the helping can feel like an impossible mountain. Well, I'm going to climb that mountain and humble myself, because I can't get through this without the help of others.

About a year ago, I was diagnosed with hypermobility on top of fibromyalgia. For those that don't know, hypermobility is where my joints become loose and essentially turn me into a collapsing mess. Think skyrim's ragdoll physics. It's painful, it sucks, and I've been in complete denial until my doctor finally told me to get a damn wheelchair.

Now the type I need runs in the 1.5 to 2k range. That's....a lot. My insurance seems to think that since I can kind of move about my apartment without it, that they don't need to cover it.

My quality of life is at stake. I can't go on walks, or go to the zoo, or the library, or dates with my boyfriend without completely exhausting myself and running the risk of collapsing. My legs, as much as I love then, betray me on a nearly daily basis.

I want my life back. I want my independence back. I wanna be able to go out with friends and my partner without being a constant burden.

I know I'm asking for a lot. I'm honestly asking for a miracle at this point. But something's gotta give. There's a whole lot of life still worth living and I don't want to miss a single second of it. So if you can donate, thank you. If you can share my story, also, thank you. Even if all you can do is tell me it's gonna be okay, I'll be grateful.

I want to live.
