As you may know I'm about to enter my naughty Forty’s. As a soon to be Forty-year-old, I have been able to create a good life for myself, and an unimaginably happy and humorous son. Who is fortunate enough to have access to tutors, extracurricular pursuits, and support from myself and his Dad. Unfortunately, there are a lot of children out there who don't have access to tutors, extracurricular activities and knowledge of who they are, and where they come from... as British afro-Caribbean’s.
I am lucky enough to not have any needs for myself or in life, I have life goals but no needs! What I am passionate about is children, the Caribbean, UK, equal opportunities and raising our beautiful and enthusiastic youths, them being able to love themselves, knowing that everything is open to them and there is no limits to their success. We can do more than rap and run… even though we are good at it!
I am putting together a Caribbean Saturday school and teaching agency called "If You Believe in You" offering 9-16-year olds an understanding of themselves, our Caribbean/ UK history, food, music, languages along with additional support with core subjects Maths and English. The school will be held on Saturdays during term-time from 10am-4pm.
For my 40th Birthday, instead of gifts. I would appreciate if you would donate to the setup of the agency and delivery of the pilot term of the Saturday school. After the pilot, I would love to gain funding, so that the Saturday school is accessible to all households.
