Iesha's Kidney Transplant Journey

I created this page in support of my childhood best friend Iesha.
She is, and has always been, one of the most determined and kind-hearted people I know. In April of this past year she was diagnosed with Chronic Glomerulonephritis stage 4, which is a form of kidney failure, at only 23 years old. It was discovered during a routine check up with her doctor, and came as a huge shock to us all.
Since then, it has been a constant fight against the clock. From going to see her primary doctor, nephrologist, and transplant team, she has racked up a lot more expenses than she planned. Since being diagnosed, she has advanced into stage 5-kidney failure, with a Glomerular filtration rate decreasing from 28 to 12 in a matter of months. Due to the fast progression of her disease, the doctors are hoping to find her a kidney donor soon, then proceed with a transplant, this being the only long-term treatment for her condition. Even with a transplant, Iesha's life will forever be changed. She will need to have regular doctors appointments and medications to prevent the new kidney from rejecting.
Iesha has put college on pause, where she was studying to be a nurse, to focus more on working and her medical care. With your help, I am hoping we can raise enough money to help her. I myself am there to support my best friend, but there is only so much I can do. Please help her!!! She has been so brave, and she truly deserves it.
