Ice Age Trail Boardwalk

In 2018 the Washington - Ozaukee County Chapter of the Ice Age Trail Alliance will build a 570-foot boardwalk across a natural wetland. The boardwalk will be located between Pleasant Hill Rd and East Waterford Rd just east of Hwy K.
The new boardwalk replaces one built in 1989. The old boardwalk has carried tens of thousands of hikers. It provides a dry path and an opportunity to view all the life of this special biome without disrupting the land. As you can see in the photos, it is in very bad condition and must be replaced.
The materials cost is $35/foot. All labor is provided by volunteers. We must raise $20,000 for the project.
We are reaching out to individuals, local businesses and other groups that provide funding for projects of this nature.
