Ian's Recovery Fund
This is a story about a mom and her boy. Ian Kodi Alexander was born December 24, 2011. Such joy!!! As he grew there were difficult times and at age 4 the term Sensory Processing Disorder was introduced and explained. When explained his mom said "That is Ian". Ian has had professional OT and Speech therapy for a little over a year. So much improved. He began expressing his feelings, has a delightful sense of humor, could deal with the public and express his love and affection. November of last year he was admitted to the hospital for what was diagnosed as Nephrotic Syndrome. A kidney condition where the kidney filter became very thin and could not filter the protein to the blood stream. Instead the protein would go to his urine. Affects are severe swelling of his face, arms, and legs. Treatment is high doses of steroids. Nephrotic patients are prone to have blood clotting. On July 5th this sweet boy suffered a massive stroke deep within his brain due to clotting. He is now at Le Bonheur Childrens Hospital in Memphis TN in Neuro ICU. His mom has not left his side. She is a single mom now and so devoted to her son. I ask, as his Mimi to help this mom and her boy.
