Ian Waterworth - Survivor Fund

Donation protected
Ian Waterworth ended up taking his own life on the evening of July 7th, 2018.

For those who have never met Ian, he was a unique, bright, and adventure-seeking individual. He never missed an opportunity to help a person in need, regardless of their status or situation. Those who knew him personally will remember his distinct ability to start trends: such as electronic skateboarding (while wearing jean shorts and a leather vest), weight-gaining competitions (followed by weight-losing competitions), or exploring the spookiest parts of the city (in the darkest hours). Whatever Ian did, he did it with all of his heart--even if it was the simplest of things.

Ian served in the United States Air Force, and after an honorable discharge he continued his service  as a contractor. He suffered from PTSD and other illnesses, and his passing was sudden and unexpected. Missed most will be his deep bellowing laugh, sarcastic smile, and silly, devious humor.

He leaves behind a fiancé, Ashley, and a 20 month old son, Jack. Ashley was a stay-at-home mother with no source of income. The funds raised will be used by Ashley and Jack for living expenses and unexpected costs associated with Ian's loss. Please help us reach this goal--any amount is appreciated and helps greatly.

Military veterans such as Ian are at 22% higher risk to commit suicide, and according to the department of veterans affairs each day over 20 American veterans take their own lives. Each one of those lives lost is a devastating blow to our country, and to the family and friends that need the strong support and focus only veterans can provide. If you are a veteran and having dark thoughts please reach out to a fellow vet, friend, health care professional or any of these great resources:

Ian, we miss you like crazy man. There were so many wacky adventures all of us were supposed to have together. Your sister summed it up best: you just had twice the legal limit of character.

I hope they serve Faygo in heaven.
