"I Am Mannequin" Photo Essay

I Am Mannequin (a dystopian reflection)

I'm raising funds to further develop "I Am Mannequin" photo essay to tell the story of how unregulated capitalism subjects most American workers to Draconian rules that strip away an individual's humanity, rendering them effectively into mannequins.

The goal is for the project to explain how neoliberal capitalism is infinitely more exploitive and inhumane than more regulated forms of capitalism, or worker-directed businesses.

My plan is to use funds to:

1. produce a short documentary

2. publish a first run of photo books, with supportive essays

3. produce an interactive website

4. produce gallery-size images, for display in libraries and galleries.

These funds will make possible the further telling of a story that's been kept hidden from the American public, with the hope that further awareness will allow for workers to collectively reject these Byzantine economic policies, and provide practical solutions.
