LGBTQ/POC Wearable-Art Fashion Show Funding

Hi! Our names are Alicia Roeder, CJ Aslan, and Aliya Parashar and together we make up The ArtWear Collective. In June of 2019 The Collective will be debuting its first interdisciplinary art exhibition, highlighting artists and designers that are specifically pushing the boundaries of fashion and art. The official venue for the show is TBA . It is our hope that you can help support us in reaching our goal of $6,500 dollars. This sum of money will cover all venue expenses as well as forms of payment for artists and helping hands aiding us in putting together all aspects of the show (i.e. lighting, sound, DJ, set design, etc.).
A bit about ArtWear and the show:
As The ArtWear Collective, we aim to operate as a cooperative to aid minority artists in showcasing their work. This is in order to build representation, establish ownership of identity, and develop a sense of understanding between these individuals and surrounding communities. ArtWear believes representation is imperative in the future of art and fashion. Community outreach is the bridge to solidifying all facets of creative ideas.
With this in mind, we are looking to create an exhibition that pushes artists and designers to feature work that encompasses the audience fully, making each new designer and artist consider how each piece will make an impact on the space surrounding it. We hope that work like this creates a platform for artists to engage with the audience; forming an open bridge for communication and understanding.
