Hi, my name is Jesus  and I'm  one of those kids that have that x-extra chromosome you know they call it Down Syndrome. I think they should call it Up Syndrome!!! But whatever. I also have leukemia and I have been receiving treatments at Children's Hosp. In El Paso. I have to be there a lot and that has made it impossible for my mom to keep working. We struggle but she is tough (that's where I get it) Candlelighters is a big help as are my family but my mommy could use more help. So my Uncle set up this page for me.  I'm asking for anything that you can contribute. Please also keep Candlelighters in mind if you have items that you no longer need, that also helps us. Thank you in advance for your contributions.  Well like I said I'm Down, I'm DOWN to kick Cancers Butt!!!! https://www.kvia.com/news/top-stories/candlelighters-of-el-paso-helps-families-with-children-diagnosed-with-cancer/793866370://www.kvia.com/news/top-stories/candlelighters-of-el-paso-helps-families-with-children-diagnosed-with-cancer/793866370

October is Down Syndrome Awareness Month. During the month of October, we celebrate people with Down syndrome and make people aware of their abilities and accomplishments. It's not about celebrating disabilities, it's about celebrating abilities.

Today's Miracle Monday is about one of our amazing heroes Jesus Luna! We cannot gush enough about Jesus. Anyone that meets him will tell you what a loving, genuine, compassionate and caring person he is! Always willing to participate in our events and share his smile!

"Jesus is 13 years old and was diagnosed in November 2017 with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia and is being treated presently at El Paso Children's Hospital. Jesus has Down syndrome and is not very vocal, so they have had to be patient and have gone that extra step to help him understand why they have to do what they do to help him. The staff have gone far and beyond to help me and my children and have made me feel like I could not be in better hands. We still have a way to go with treatment, but I have faith in the Dr's and nurses to continue giving there best. Thank you all for making us feel as part of the family God bless you and thank you." - Maria Luna (Jesus Luna's Mom)

Just a update or info, the reason for this fundraiser is because with Jesus having to get chemo and radiation among so many other issues, he is unable to attend school and at times is admitted to the hospital for weeks. Because of him being a Down child his devolpement at this time is not where he can be left there on his own. This has made it impossible for my sister Maria (Suky) to continue to report to work. Suky is a 23 year employee of EPCC where she has assisted thousands of veterans with registering and attending college. Suky is not one to ask and is selling menudo on the weekends that she can, to help make ends meet. She is a worker. Thank you all for the support. Know that she and the family are extremly grateful. Please continue to share . Thank You.
