I really need your help, please.

Hey there, thank you for taking the time to read this. It means means a bunch to me. I don't want to waste your time so I'll just dive right into it. In 2006 I was the "victim" (I don't particularly like that label) of an incredibly violent attack. I was grabbed from behind, in the dark at my home, and had my throat/chest sliced open from my left clavicle all the way to my right arm. This was not a random attack, but a genuine attempt to murder me by someone who, at one point, I was in love with and would've done anything to make them happy. Please, if you have the time and really would like the longer rundown, watch the interview I did with the amazing Jeff Holiday, in it we cover all of it in detail and it's the best representation of my side of what happened.
As a result of this attack the muscle that covers the front right side of my chest was severed completely and had to be stitched back together. I have done the best I can to take care of ofthe injury and not damage myself any further, but even with the best of care normal wear and tear has put me in a position where I can not continue without medical intervention.
I have found a surgeon that will help me by reinforcing the bond holding my muscle together as well as with the necessary steroid injections I need in my shoulder to ease the strain that has been put on it from picking up the slack all of these years.
I will have to pay for it all out of pocket because, even though I literally can no longer lift anything more than 3lbs with (and can barely lift in general) my right arm, it is being considered an elective surgery by the insurance company. I was blown away to be told that. It's insane to me that I've lost 80% of my movement in it, but because there's still some movement there, it's elective.
I know you guys don't know me, or owe me anything, but any help you could give me towards this goal would be life changing to me. The goal I've set covers the rest of what I need for the actual surgery and enough for me to scrape by while healing.
