WHO WE ARE:



Writer, Director-
Benjamin Michel is a writer and director based in Oakland, California. He also alternates his work as a cinematographer and photographer. He is a seasoned producer who's made popular short form documentaries for KQED, the Northern California PBS/NPR affiliate. His narrative work has been screened at a variety of film festivals including the San Diego Black Film Festival and Global Peace Film Festival. His photography has been exhibited in Oakland's Impact Hub and in San Francisco's former gallery Space 236. He holds a BA in Film from the University of Central Florida.


Producer-Jehnovah Carlisle is an independent filmmaker based in the Bay Area, California. Carlisle is a MFA Film graduate with experience in both fiction and documentary storytelling. His short films are deeply rooted in the Bay Area community where he resides. Carlisle’s work has screened in festivals locally and nationally. He is in the process of writing a feature length script and his most recent short, THE MAN WHO FEARED is due for festival release this year.

Producer-
Jody Stillwater is a Chinese/Danish-American writer, director & producer based out of San Francisco. His work focuses on the articulation of rhythm, emotion and movement. Evoking machines, the art of dance and wild animals, his films project a tactile reality and elements of a dream logic. He’s been selected to participate in various labs, such as the Tribeca Film Festival Hacks Lab (incorporating film + technology), the San Francisco Dance Film Festival Co-Lab and the Edinburgh International Film Festival’s Pitch Lab. He holds a BA in Film & Digital Media from UC Santa Cruz.

THE FILM PROJECT:
I AM A GOD is a fantastical story of self discovery that summons ancient truths. Henrik is a nerdy budding photographer planning to invent and distrubute a unique line of film cameras ordained with ancient Egyptian symbols. In the midst of an ordinary day hanging out with his friend Kevin, he sees a supernatural vision. Their whole world is turned upside down after this revealing experience. As Henrik makes progress with his inventions the visions intensify. He becomes determined to find out what these visions mean and what he must do.

The film will combine elements of Drama, Sci-fi, and Magical Realism in a modern world. 


All filming will be in and around OAKLAND, CALIFORNIA, representing and highlighting the town! Our main cast and crew are all talented artist living and working in the San Francisco Bay Area. We're highlighting our great community by using local venues, locations, and services for filming.

The film will be produced through ANKH ARTS, a new multi-media company dedicated to the creative visuals and voices from artists of color. I AM A GOD will serve as a catalyst for the production company's official first film release!

-The film is a dramatic Sci-fi so there will be some cool effects, and more funds =  amazing effects!

Original Music Score
-We want an original soundtrack to enhance the cinematic experience.

Sound Engineering
-Professional mastering and mixing of the soundtrack.

Artist and Crew Fees
-We don't want to be starving artists so we can keep making creative work to share with you!

Festival Submission Fees
-We're planning to submit to film festivals all over the world!

Location Fees
-Some places charge for us to be there and we want to support our local businesses.

Promotion and Advertising
-We want to be able to push the film as far as possible and it greatly helps to have funds behind that effort.

We need funds ASAP and time is of the essence! This story needs to be told!
