I am the curator of East River Jazz, a community-based jazz culture program presenter in Washington, D.C. Annually we partner with the annual DC Jazz Festival, Inc.'s Jazz in the 'Hoods series offering programs in the city's East of the River / Wards 7&8 neighborhoods.
In 2015 our whole year efforts will honor the 100th anniversary of composer Billy Strayhorn's November 29, 1915 birth in a twenty event series entitled Celebrating Strayhorn!. Most of our events, both conversations and performances will be FREE ADMISSION - DONATIONS APPRECIATED!
Our organization, CA-FAM III, Inc. , a not-for-profit, tax-exempt, 501(c)3 corporation depends on volunteerism, foundation/arts commissions grants, patron ticket purchases and donations to support our program offerings.
For the second year we are using GoFundMe, an online fundraising space, to assist us in creatively raising much needed funding for our initiatives. Your donation would be greatly appreciated.
