Grayson Millers Memorial

Grayson Robert Miller was born on September 8th, 2015, to Frank Miller and Briana Marciniak. He spent his entire six months of life at the Childrens Hospitals of Minnesota. He courageously fought against Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndome and a number of other defects. He passed away peacefully in the arms of his mother and father, surrounded by family, on March 16th 2016.

Graysons life would seem short to many, but those that were touched by him understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. His gentle smile could melt the hearts of those around him and though he never spoke a word, his voice and thoughts could always be heard.

Although Grayson was a very sick boy his entire life, he never let it show. He was always so brave, even in his final days. He possessed such strength, perseverance, and over came every challenge he was faced with, no matter how grim the outlook was. He would lay in his crib and listen to music for hours on end. Grayson loved the movies Frozen and Inside Out. Sometimes, we would put on the movies just because he loved to watch the colors. He had such wonder in his eyes. He fought longer than anyone could have ever asked him to, and I will always cherish the days we spent together.

Grayson may have lost his life, but he will always live on in our hearts. He showed us that life is short, and it is always something to be treasured. Grayson always smiled, even on the bad days. This journey has brought so much heart ache, but also so much joy. He showed us a love we never knew existed. We are so thankful Grayson’s brother Dominic got to meet his little brother, and that he was able to build a bond with Grayson that will last a lifetime.

Grayson leaves behind many caregivers who provided love and support that enhanced Graysons quality of life. Grayson extends his love to his amazing nurses Sam, Samantha, Shanna, Abby, Katie, Melaina, Shelly, and of course many others. There is a special place in our hearts for two of Graysons brilliant surgeons, Dr. Moga and Dr. Kreykes. There are no words that could ever adequately express just how thankful we are for you.

Grayson is survived by his loving parents; big brother, Dominic; Grandparents Kathleen Miller of Duluth, Lori and Jeanne Ryan of Duluth; great-grandparents Bruce and Rina Johnson of Esko; Kathleen Johnson of Duluth, Sandy Marciniak of Proctor, Dave Welch of Duluth, along with many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Grayson is preceded in death by his Grandfather William Miller, Great Grandparents Lyle Olson & Virginia Olson and Ruby Welch along with many other loved ones.
