Hi there!
My name is Brad and I can assume if you've found your way to this page then you know either I or Jenna and are aware of our situation. If that is somehow not the case, I'll summarize what this page is about for you.
Jenna and I met via the internet and immediately hit it off. We almost instantly became close friends who communicated daily via instant messaging, which quickly turned into 12hr+ Skype calls after our first Skype date. The elephant in the room that entire time being, she lives in New Zealand and I live in Texas.
Don't get me wrong, we were never unaware of that fact. We never pretended like it wasn't a factor. We were both, at the time, very wary of the implications of falling for someone who literally lived on the other side of the planet. We knew it would be excruciating at times, horribly lonely at others, and had the all of the makings of being an all around miserable experience for the both of us.
But despite the odds stacked against us (and perhaps our better judgement) we fell for each other. We've since spent every moment we could spare hanging out together on Skype and I even managed to scrape together the funds for a trip to New Zealand over the summer. I can't speak for Jenna, but I can honestly say I have never felt so instantly comfortable around another human being. I knew pretty much straight away that she was the person I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. She is my bestfriend, my partner, and my favorite person in the world and I honestly don't want to imagine what life would be like if I hadn't met her.
So what does all that sappiness have to do with this page? Well you've probably guessed it, but we're trying to scrape together funds however we can to make being together a reality. Immigrating to another country is a lengthy and expensive process, and while neither of us are exactly comfortable with asking people for help, we'll take it wherever we can get it at this point.
If you're able to throw a few bucks our way, we'll both be seriously grateful. Heck, even if all you can do is share this page we'll still be super appreciative.
