Kodas Jaw reconstructive surgery
Koda is my FAMILY, he is my protector, after my Grandfather passed, I would find places to cry away from everyone, and koda would find me and lay on top of me and literally lick my tears off.
I AM BEGGING ANYONE AND EVERYONE TO PLEASE help us cover the cost of his reconstructive surgery that he needs IMMEDIATELY, I honest to GOD, Do not mean to make anyone feel guilty or pressured, but if I've EVER helped you in any way, PLEASE donate ANYTHING you can afford, my heart is so broken.
if you know a VET that will take payments, PLEASE pass on that information to me as well.
THANK YOU in advance,
Well, we have almost met our goal! I can't thank everyone enough. Koda is doing well, although he recently showed signs of not being able to chew or digest his food too well, seeing as he doesn't have all of his canines teeth anymore, so I think he's sort of inhaling his food, so it just ends up not settling in his tummy, but on my floor :/.
Koda is scheduled for another surgery, I personally suffered an allergic reaction to my new asthma medication, so as soon as I'm feeling better, Koda will have his second of possibly 3 or 4 surgeries. Updates will follow.
PLEASE continue to share the link, we as a family appreciate and are extremely grateful for all of you that have donated thus far. I added a picture of Koda and his Sister Isis just resting like spoiled babies on the couch.
Have a beautiful week, be thankful for your loved ones, and don't take life for granted. Talk to you soon!
Thank you for your patience, life has gotten quite overwhelming, so please forgive this late update,. Thank you, to those of you that continually ask about Kodas condition, it means a lot to our family.
Koda seen the Vet this past Monday, and it's been determined that he will have another surgery January 5th, to remove the remaining broken teeth that weren't able to be pulled, because they were on one of the fracture lines of the jaw.
The Vet did let us know that he seems to healing ok, but the risk of infection is still quite high. We are SO thankful to ALL of you that have donated, and please continue to share the link, the cost of the multiple surgeries are expensive.
I hope that all of you have a wonderful holiday, and PLEASE appreciate those you love, and tell them you love them, sometimes hearing it, is just as beautiful as feeling it.
Sorry for the delay, Our family got hit with the Stomach Flu.
KODA is resting comfortably, he's still on antibiotics and pain medication, he's starting to play with his Doggie Sister "Isis" again, and Isis has just been so protective and loving towards Koda. It's really a beautiful display of animal affection.
Koda has taken back his "Protector" role in this home, never leaving the side of our 6yr old, that's been sick, and as you can see, he's standing over her in one of the pictures, because someone was walking by the house, and he slept on the end of her bed every night, he's so unbelievably sweet and gentle.
Koda will see the Vet next week, and we will get some more info, and hopefully we can get some good news, I'm hopeful. There's a long road ahead of us, but I truly believe that Koda will regain a full life again.
Thank you again to all of you, and please continue to share the link!
Koda completed his first of possibly many surgeries yesterday, the Vet called me post -surgery to let me know that it's far worse than predicted.
Many of Kodas teeth were broken, missing, and he has TWO jawline fractures, they removed the broken teeth, sealed the holes in his SINUSES from the teeth pushing up into the nasal cavity, and also sealed holes in his jaw from the extracted teeth. Unfortunately, the Vet will need to go back in and remove a few more teeth, one of which has an exposed nerve, and the fear of infection is very high.
We as a family are incredibly thankful to our Veterinarian who TRULY cares about Koda, and to ALL of you that have donated, and a HUGE thank you to our anonymous donor that offered their Credit Care Card to us, so that we can atleast get Kodas first surgery taken care of. The Vet is VERY hopeful that when all procedures have been completed, that Koda will make a FULL recovery.
Due to the fact that he may be looking at a couple more procedures, and aftercare/medications, the funds may not cover everything, I'd NO IDEA how expensive this may be. I ask that you PLEASE continue to share the link and updates. Every dollar does help.
Pictured below is Kodas mouth PRE-surgery, these pictures were taken by the Vet, as you can see, MANY teeth are missing and or broken. NOBODY understands how Koda is still such a sweet boy, given the fact that a HORRIBLE COWARDLY HUMAN hit him with such tremendous force, that they mangled his jaw.
Thank you to all of you, and PLEASE share.
Please continue to share and spread the word for this wonderful Pup so Koda can have all the needed repairs done
Hey there .. I donated and hope your dog gets better asap . I have a few friends that may donate direct to the vet help with the payments . What is the Vet and did the police have any suspects ... poor dog :(
Care credit! A lot if vets take it and they do different payment plans
