In the aftermath of Irma’s violent assault, we have struggled to assess how best to rebuild our lives. The generous outpour of love, encouragement and donations has been a treasure that we will hold close to our hearts forever. It enables us to start repairs immediately.
We would like to give a gift that symbolizes the beauty of St. Martin and Roland’s lifelong effort to record it. We have selected a painting very dear to us, to offer as a limited edition giclee on canvas to thank everyone who shares towards this much appreciated GoFundMe campaign.
“The Artist’s World” was painted on location from life with a view from the artist’s garden just within the past year. It symbolizes what we all love about St.Martin.
We will be offering it in three different gift sizes:
10” x 8” canvas for $100 donation
17” x 14” canvas for $275 donation
20” x 16” for $450 donation

For all of us who witnessed the destruction of Hurricane Irma to St. Martin, it will be a phenomena remembered for the rest of our lives.
We reached out to our wonderful friend and gifted artist, Sir Roland Richardson, to understand the hardship that he and his wife are currently faced with to rebuild their home and beautiful landmark gallery in Marigot. They are overwhelmed with repairs, from roofs to floors, damages, losses, and closure of their business, soon to have celebrated its 20th year as a truly gracious asset to the island community. This is a situation they cannot accomplish on their own. Any help will be a ray of sunshine on the long path that lies ahead of them.
A conservative figure of $70,000 is needed to restore and repair the damages they have sustained in an environment where their income is greatly compromised. No part of this figure represents lost or damaged artworks of which there were many treasures damaged and destroyed. The summation of this amount consists of monies to repair roofs on both locations, the artist’s critical storage area, replacement of doors and shutters, damaged appliances, restore contaminated cisterns, seal and repaint every square inch of the exteriors and interiors, plus many other fundamentals.
Sean and Beth Bush are sponsoring this GoFundMe campaign which Sir Roland and Laura have given their blessing with enormous appreciation.
