My name is Jay Rathman. I am originally from Bufalo, NY but now in Tampa, Fl.
This past Saturday, one of my best friends, Jim Harchar, left Fort Lauderdale to meet his brother-in-law Rick in Atlanta, so they could drive his tow ruck & jet ski's to Corpos Christi, TX to help rescue as many people as they could from the severe flooding caused by Hurricane Harvey. They did this on their own time, and with their own money. Of course, this has started to get expensive for them with tll the fuel they use in their 15 hour days doing what they can for people, and hotels, food, etc...
I had to basically argue with Jim to put this up but the fact is, they are running out of money and are faced with either packing up and leaving, or staying another week or two to see how many people they can help. It is a very dire situation in SE Texas right now.
That said, if we can meet this goal, they can stay another couple weeks, and they are happy to show receipts for everything that they are spending.
Should this raise more than $2K, they will purchase & donate much needed supplies for these Texas residents that are so desperately needed such as bottled water, food, blankets, basic clothing & living needs.
They are not doing this for any other reason than they are compassionate about helping these people that are stranded, to safety.
They have rescued about 100 people so far, and want to keep going until everyone is safe.
Please do whatever you can to help these amazing guys in Texas to help as many people as they can!
