Human Powered Vehicle Adventure
Donation protected
Hello Fellow & Sister Adventurers!
I am planning a Human Powered Vehicle build (trekking cart ) , so I can haul water and gear throughout BC Canada and explore - notably the Lytton arid region of BC. Treks will short term treks, perhaps 2 days to a week at a time depending on my schedule.
The goal is to use human power to haul the trekking cart/gear, to use generator hubs to power / charge the safety taillights when i'm on the side of the highway, and as well to charge the camera batteries. The other goal is to push myself physically daily, but also to enjoy my surroundings as I go. I want to explore as much off highway area as I can, visiting old buildings and mines, and take a ton of pictures, documenting history. I also want to meet people along the way, especially First Nations, learn the history of the region and hopefully inspire them to do something out of the ordinary, as well as have them inspire me.
The funds will used to procure materials to build the custom aluminum trekking cart , fat bike wheels , spare parts , topo maps, & trip gear including GPS and an emergency communications device.
I will need funds by fall (Sep) 2018. Startup support would really mean a lot to me, and I hope to be in a position in 2019 to help and mentor other Adventurers like me. I really want to inspire others to do something out of the ordinary.
I plan to set up a trip report with photos and videos so everyone can enjoy the trek photos. Live vicariously thru me as I exert myself physically hauling the trekking cart up and down the mountains of BC, and get great photos. You can see some of my outdoors photos on INSTAGRAM #black_cat_trekking
my inspirations for the trekking cart build was from Sebastion Copeland , who crossed huge deserts with a custom made cart. His cart setup made sense to me, as I often camp and hike with very heavy loads in a backpack .....carts allow more gear, notably water, to be hauled, over varied terrain with "relative' ease.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, donations are very much appreciated!
UPDATE: JUNE 9/2018 - working on the final design / drafting sketch of the trekking cart. Eventually, I will take all the measurements and get Metal Supermarkets in Burnaby BC to cut the aluminum plate and misc other pieces required, for me.
