A Reliable Car

Recently, our only car was involved in an accident. It's simple, really - what I need now more than anything is a used car. Nothing fancy, just a reliable vehicle that can make my every day life easier. Our current car is a 2003 Hyundai that I share with my husband - and that barely runs. The windows and air conditioner are both nonfunctional, and the door handle is hanging by a thread. I don't know if it will get me to work each day.
A used car will also mean that I can take my husband and child to multiple doctor appointments. My husband has recently been diagnosed with his third bout of cancer. My child has diabetes, major and chronic depression and I have had two brain surgeries and I suffer from memory loss and an inability to find words. Being able to get to and from therapy, doctor's appointments, and work would provide a major difference in the quality of life for me and my family.
If you know me, you know that I love my job. I'm a para professional at an Elementary school in Broward County, and I largely work with the children. I love my job, and I love "my" kids, but I make $407 every two weeks, $17,000 a year. My husband earns minimal in disability. My job and the ability to get there help keep me and my family going. But it doesn't provide us much "wiggle room" in our budget, with mounting medical bills much less the ability to purchase a car - which is sorely needed.
I'm starting this GoFundMe to gain the money needed to buy a functional car that will, hopefully, last my family and I many years to come.
Please think of donating and helping me achieve one piece of the puzzle that can change my life. Someone else's old car can give my family and I a new lease on life.
