Honey's medical expenses

While on the way home from a trip, we saw a dog eating a dead carcass on the side of the road. Of course we turned around immediately and put her in the car. In total it took three people and over three hours to cut and wash her hair. She is emaciated, she was covered in fleas, her fur was all matted together with bugs falling out of the mats, she has sores, infected ears and eyes, her skin is extremely irritated, and her teeth need cleaning, we do not even know to the fullest extent how bad her medical issues are until a veterinarian evaluates her. We can not keep her but we are NOT taking her to a shelter or pound. She is an older female dog that is cat and dog friendly and very good with people. We are full-time college students and trying to raise enough money to cover her veterinary expenses. We are also looking for a good home.
