We have a local Texan in need of an adapted wheelchair van. He was injured at the age of 17 swinging off of a tree swing into a lake. His foot became caught, pointing him into a diving position. After a 28 foot fall he hit head first into a shallow spot of 8 inches. He broke C5/C6 and has been paralyzed from the chest down for 22 years now. Because he was a minor when he became injured he only qualifies for a limited allowance through Medicaid, which is eaten up with government fees, caregivers, and medical supplies. His current truck is broke and pending an approval for repairs from the government. He has been asking to have it fixed or replaced for 2 years and it has fallen on deaf ears. Matthew is a film major at the University of Texas Arlington and can't attend school to complete his studies. When he graduates his dream is to be gainfully employed, but all of this is impossible until we get him an adapted van. As he has aged, so have his needs. It is impossible to drive the truck, even when and if it ever gets repaired. It's literally on it's last leg! He needs a van to maximize his independence as he is virtually home bound right now. I strongly feel as a community we CAN provide a better life for Matthew. Let's come together and do this! No donation is too small! Let's get Matthew a new set of wheels and back on the road of INDEPENDENCE!! His dream van is the Adapted Toyota Sienna. Network, spread the word, share, help us reach out to every person with a giving heart willing to donate to Matthews NEED. If you know of a dealership or any business that can support our mission please spread this message! #payitforward

*Matthew, when you read this, I want you to know we WILL succeed! We gotcha buddy. We will take it from here. Get well soon! With Love, From All Of US In Your Community and Everyone who is helping to provide a better life for you!

WE DID IT! With the help of everyone coming together, Matt and Gentrie were able to buy their dream van debt free last year. After the purchase the van had to be specifically custom modified for Matt. The transformation is done and Matt is officially back to driving! Thank you everyone for your donations, for helping restore Matt's independence, and improving he and Gentrie's quality of life together.

A message from Matt:
-----------------------------------------------
I just want to say thank you all for everyone's prayers, it just shows that God is the ultimate healer. I started feeling a little better today. I mean it. I thank every single one of you who prayed for me. I still have a ways to go but the fact that I felt better today than I have over the whole last week proves if you give it all to God he will take care of you. So thank you thank you thank you, Everyone of you, thank you from the bottom of my heart.

A Message From Matt:

For everyone who knows me well, I am asking for you to pray for me to ease my pain as I have had 14 surgeries in the last 10 years and most have unfortunately got worse instead of better. I want to thank everyone who has come over to pray over me. I have a serious infection, My recent second neck surgery did not go as planned along with several other problems that barely allow me to leave the house. I hate to admit it but I'm scared for my life. I am not looking for sympathy at all but I believe at least 75% of my friends on Facebook are Christians, Maybe more maybe less.whether you are or are not, I just ask of you to please Say a prayer to ask God for my health and well-being to improve as quick as possible. If you would take a moment to just pray for me even if for just one minute to ask God to please help me get well and also anyone else that you know that needs help and prayer, I would truly appreciate this more than you know. I ask this because The power of prayer is the most powerful medicine there is. Thank you very much, You don't know how much this means to me. if you have anyone that needs prayer or help finding Jesus, please tell me and I would be glad to pray to help them. Once again thank you all for your prayers,
God and I love you all very much. Thank you

Also contact medicaid and have them put you in touch with an agency here in the state that will assist in converting vehicles. They paid for all the conversions to my daughter's car. She needed hand controls. All was covered by the state at Advanced Mobility Systems.

My daughter was in an auto accident and used a wheelchair. She passed away recently and so I have to sell the van and it's wheelchair accommodating. Don't know if you want new or used but it's pretty good shape 2008 Dodge Caravan with Braun . It has the ramp and you lock the wheelchair down and they sit in their wheelchair. It's not necessary to get them out of the chair. Email is ginabart@yahoo.com if interested.

From all of us at Jeffrey H Morris Memorial foundation, a donation for you. We raised some money at our annual HippieFest weekend that you attended last year and thought we could help out.
