Turn A Comic Artist Into A Muralist

Hi! My name is Kelly Guillory , and I'm an indie comic artist, writer, and painter from Detroit, Michigan. I am a Red Bull House of Art alumni and have published several awesome indie comic titles in the past few years.
I have the opportunity to transport my fun and colorful paintings from comic page and canvas, to a wall in the Grand River Creative Corridor in Detriot. I'm excited because this will help more people see my art, as well as (hopefully?) get me to paint on other walls in the future--maybe something that can turn into a paid endeavor!
Here's some really cool comic art I've done, so you can see the range of my style:
I would love to be out there and painting big, huge colorful murals throughout Detroit and other parts of the US, but right now the cost of mural supplies is just a bit out of my company's budget. I have successfully run my company full-time for two years, developing books and illustrating for other people while keeping us in the black.
I have a feeling if more people saw my work out in the open, it would increase our sales and provide more opportunities for me.
After some thought, I decided to put up this fundraiser in order to give myself the chance to go for my dream. In the five years I've been a painter, I've accomplished some great things, from being a total newbie at the start to showing at one of the biggest galleries in the city this year. Now it's time for me to go beyond that and really aim for the stars.
I want to go around the world and paint on walls! I know my art can take me there. The money raised with this fundraiser will pay for enough paints to get started. The more I raise, the less I'll have to think of to earn later. I plan on getting both acrylic paints and brushes, as well as spray paints. I'm working with Jivehouse Art Supply , another Grand River Creative Corridor business, to deliver what I need to get painting.
