How Humans Impact Wildlife Behavior

HOW HUMANS IMPACT ANIMAL BEHAVIOR PROJECT

For many years I have been documenting the behavior of tourists as they interact with wildlife. As cell phone camera technology improves, it appears as though the wildlife admirer with the camera phone attempts to replicate images that were once only captured with a professional SLR. The problem lies in the distance required to capture these cell phone images, and the safety of both the wildlife and the “photographer.” My goal is to focus on how the behavior of today’s photographers have potentially effected the behavior of the wildlife they are so desperate to document.

In brief I plan to work with biologists to gain data on what the effects are being made to wildlife behavior by the increasingly close and constant proximity to people.

My hope is to bring awareness to the general population in the form of a book, on the importance of keeping a safe and respectable distance to wildlife.

I need your help! I am raising funds to help create this book project. All the funds collected will go directly into educating people about the harms of approaching wildlife and to teach them how to interact with wildlife responsibly.
