How can we help Maral?

On Monday I went to kiss my daughter goodnight and found her crying. I asked her what happened, expecting something like - "I don't want to go to school tomorrow" or "I forgot to do my homework" - but she said "Rosy's dad died today"... "Wait! How? You were just playing with her a couple of hours ago!" - "Yes, and she came home to this horrible news"

I didn't sleep well that night thinking. Apparently my daughter was doing the same. In the morning she asked:  "How are they going to live now?"
"I think we need to help them somehow" I replied.

Vahoug (aka Victor) Karamousayan was the main provider for his family, working in a car shop. He passed away at work; he wasn't previously sick - just fell on the ground and that was the end... His wife, Maral, is a teacher. Together they had (and Maral still has) a big family, five children, ages 12 to 17 - three boys and two girls. They are a truly incredible family. Maral is a beatiful and kind person, Vahoug was a great man, father and husband, loved by his family. This is an enourmous and horrible loss.

However, I have tried to set aside the emotions, which is difficult to do, and think what I would do in Maral's situation. Most of us know what it takes to provide for a family, but not many of us can understand what it takes to provide for a family with five children, especially when you suddenly become the sole provider.

As we all know in our fast-paced world - "Time is money" - but I propose to reverse that saying just for now. Money is time:  the time Maral needs to live through her grief, help her children cope with it, think about a new solution for providing for her family without thinking daily how she will feed them today.
I have decided to set a goal of $50,000 -  I beleive this will help Maral to get through this first, very difficult year.

GoFundMe allows you to keep any money that is collected, even if we collect $100 - Maral will get it. But as we all understand - although $50,000 is a big chunk of money - even this is not really enough... So let's make our best effort to help. Donate what you can - even $5 will make a difference if there is enough of us, so please share with your friends, I know this can work! I've seen it happen! People are amazing when it comes to serious problems!

Thank you!
