I honestly did not know how to break the news to the Pennies for Haiti family. It started out such a difficult and painful news but now…all I can say is Praise the Lord!!! We have had such a crazy year! Starting with our most recent update… Last week a fight broke out at the girls’ house and a few of the girls decided they no longer wanted to live with each other. The news surprised both my staff and I but we reluctantly made the arrangements as the request was accompanied by life threating threats.

We did not realize the girls were so unhappy. So as requested I made the necessary arrangements for them to be returned to the old orphanage. They were due to leave on Sunday morning at 9:00 AM. In a surprise twist however 7 girls decided that they would not leave the house, they would prefer to run away than go back to the old orphanage. So our home has now been reduced to 14 girls and my two boys. Next update… Kids are kids no matter their abilities or disabilities! When thinking of opening a home for the girls my choice was always to ensure it was for girls who really needed it. God has finally made my desire a reality.

We recently welcomed two girls with a different type of disabilities in our home. Our most visual disability is Clarissa who has both of her legs bent behind her. She actually is able to not only walk but also run on her knees. In the midst of these changes, we have been trying to figure out where we would move the girls as our lease is up at our current home; we had been living month to month and the landlord has asked us to give him his house back. We now need to secure a home for our girls. My staff and I have been searching for a new house for them to live because raising full $10K for our current home has been really difficult. The rent is paid in full here in Haiti. Just today we found a house that is adequate for our needs. It will cost $4K for the year. I hope you can help us surpass this need because our financial difficulties have left us with much debt and upcoming school fees to pay.

Please join us by becoming an ambassador of change for Pennies for Haiti and blessing us with the necessary funds to be once more financially stable.

Thanksgiving Dinner!!!

July and August were really stressful months for us at the House of Hope, at Pennies for Haiti. Our challenges begin with the girls being evicted from their home to everyone and anyone we owed who wanted to get paid for past due notice by banging on our doors for payments. School tuition was also due for 25 children. To make matter worse, we were denied to move into the new house a few days before moving day, when they found out that we are an orphanage...and that was just the tip of the iceberg.

Along the way through all those mountains of difficulties God never failed to show us His presence, though sometimes we were impatient, and needed all the miracles to answer right away. We choose to Trust His word and stay still and wait for His timing. Our blessings came in small miracles at first, eventually led us to a gigantic one! We Praise His Name and we are very Thankful!
On top of financial favors, God gave us mothers!!!

Thank you to my Mom who said yes by providing a temporary home for the girls while we figured things out. Thank you to Faunise for caring and loving our princesses in such short notice. Thank you to Danny for accepting God's call to welcome the girls into her heart!
Our greatest and biggest miracle is all of you 26 wonderful donors who saw our plea and donated to get us moved into our new facility! New beautiful better than we imagine House of Hope for our Princesses. Glory to God! And we are forever THANKFUL to all our donors.

We would like to share the journey of our love story with you! Following 31 days of being displaced after the eviction, the time to go home had come for our Princesses. Moving day! It was about 7:30 pm on September 1st when we hired a van to pick them up. Short story, not long ago, we had the honor of doing the same pickup but, that time the girls were moving out of their previous orphanage, to come live with us. But, there was a striking difference at that time, on August 13th when we picked them up, though they had lived in that orphanage for over 5 years and some even longer, even though a few were leaving their siblings behind Girls-Thank-you-2everyone’s eyes were as dry as sand. To my tremendous surprise this time everything was different. We couldn't leave, because everyone was crying! The tears took us by surprise, not a dry eye in the house, the girls were crying, the nanny was crying and so were my mom and I. The words that touched me the most were to hear someone else besides myself say "I love you! to our Princesses”. What a miracle...we are blessed to have such a loving group of women calls us family!

So we pray that the blood of Jesus will abundantly bless all of you who have blessed us for over a year in your own ways! We have so much work to do, but we know we will have no lack or want. We trust that He will generously provide for all that we need for our precious Princesses according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus with plenty left over to welcome and share with others.

To celebrate those miracles as well as all the women, mothers and new friends in our lives we had a Thanksgiving dinner last Sunday. We had a phenomenal time of fellowship and love! Now our Princesses have more people in their lives that truly love and care for them!
Together with our Princesses at the New House of Hope of Pennies for Haiti we are going to be “Bold Dreamers Impossible will become Possible”

We Claim it! Declare it! In the mighty name of Jesus. Amen!!

God is great! God is good! Oh WOW! Oh WOW! What an amazing God we serve! So much has changed since this started. First we lost the first house we had found for the girls! Second, the next house we found was more than the first by $2000. But during that time as well the back to school pressure had started. We needed more than the $5000 originally asked for...but God knew and would solve all the problems facing us! Praise the Son and Glory to the Father! Thank you Lord for Your provisions!
