House for Amalia

Amalia is a Christian widow who lives in a small village in Mexico. She has nine children, the youngest ones still live with her. Simitria is her friend now living in Canada. Simitria is also a Christian widow with four boys. The picture is of Simitria and Amalia in Amalia's house two years ago.

Amalia's house in Jicayan de Tovar, Guererro, Mexico was destroyed in the earthquakes last year. She is no longer able to live in her temporary quarters and now is in an emergency situation of needing a roof over her head.

Her church in Jicayan is willing to work together and build a new house on her land, but they do not have the money to supply the materials.

Pastor Mario is willing to estimate the costs to build a concrete house with a dirt floor and doors that lock, for her and her daughters safety. So far he has estimates for 140,000 Mexican pesos (approximately $10,000 CDN). He plans to have the house built in two months.

The workers are ready, but we need to buy materials for the walls and roof.

This is a situation of needing the money as soon as possible so that we can send some money to buy the materials. As money comes in, and Pastor Mario buys the materials we can send more money until the house is complete.

Simitria's heart goes out to this widow as she understands the deep difficulty that Amalia is in. 

Please help the friends of Simitria to provide money to build a house for her friend, Amalia.


Isaiah 55:11
