Horses Affected by Florence

$95 of $2,000 goal

Hi there, my name is Renz and I'm a 26 year old equestrian from North Carolina. I was lucky enough to be in an area not hit hard by Hurricane Florence, and I could not be more grateful for that and the safety of my horse. Over the past few days I've seen countless pictures of stranded animals, people, and homes nearly covered by the flood waters.

While many people were able to evacuate, and evacuate their animals with them, there's always a need for assistance after a hurricane. In an effort to assist my fellow equestrians who did not evacuate for one reason or another, I'm looking to raise money to donate to help pay off vet bills for those in need. While people are struggling to put their lives back together the last thing they should have to worry about, is finding the money to ensure their horses are also taken care of.

I've been in contact with Carolina Coastal Equine Veterinary Service about donating to help some of their clients and I'm am actively seeking out other vet services and horse rescues taking in animals that were stranded, or abandoned, during the flooding.

Other options for donations include:

- Hope 4 Horses (a rescue in NC working to rescue horses from the floodwaters).

If you have any questions, or would like to nominate a local vet service for money to be donated to you can email me at thesaltyequestrian@gmail.com.
