Horizon Defibrillator Fund

The wonderful teams at Horizon Care and Horizon Childcare have joined forces to raise money for a defibrillator  to be used across the company.  We will be participating in a 5k inflatable obstacle course and holding various other fundraising events to raise money. All money we raised will go towards defibrillator/s.

Defibrillators are used in emergency situations to help people to recover from a cardiac arrest. After researching where local defibrillators are we are aware there's not yet one located in Pynes Hill. We also work with hundreds of people across the company so a defibrillator can support everyone.

"It is essential that defibrillation be administered immediately following the cardiac arrest. If the heart does not return to a regular rhythm within 5-7 minutes, this fibrillation could be fatal. If defibrillated within the first minute of collapse, the victim's chances for survival are close to 90 percent. For every minute that defibrillation is delayed, survival decreases by 7 percent to 10 percent. If it is delayed by more than 10 minutes, the chance of survival in adults is less than 5 percent."
