Stage IV Diagnosis 
As many of you are aware our dear Alecia has been under treatment for Stage IV colon cancer (which metastasized to the liver) over the last four years. From the very beginning, Alecia’s oncologist was most concerned about the condition of her liver. With over 90 chemo treatments, Alecia’s liver is beyond taxed. As of mid-July, chemo stopped working and was no longer an option.

Immunotherapy
This past month, Alecia was able to start on a new immunotherapy drug. While she has two rounds of immunotherapy under her belt, the tumor load in her liver is just too much. We are all praying for this new treatment to kick in and start fighting the cancer cells in her liver, but recognize what we so deeply wish for may not happen in time. 

Alecia's energy may be waning, but she is still very much a mama, a wife, a daughter, a sister, an auntie, a niece, a friend, and so much more to many people.

Love Over Fear
As a family, we are hearing scary words like liver failure, pain management, and hospice. While these are some of the most frightening words we can imagine, we choose love over fear. We want to bring you all into the circle to gather around Alecia, to surround her with the brightest of light and the deepest of love. Please hold space for Alecia, Paul, Lukas (9) and Anya (5) and our extended family as we all navigate this extremely difficult time.
