"We worry about what a child will become tomorrow, yet we forget that he is someone today."
  — Stacia Tauscher

Hello everyone, my name is Wondemagegn Breen, I was born and raised in Ethiopia until the age of 13. At the age of 13 God blessed me with a beautiful family in the united states, and I was able get adopted. Half of my life in Ethiopia was spent as homeless street kid and as an orphan. I can tell you from my own experience, I know how it feels to grow up without a mother or a father, and being neglected by other family memebers. It was one of the most painful things I had to go through. The pain grew with me, I thought it would  never go away and it was hard to live with. There was time that I felt so alone and I didn’t want to live. In September 2012 I received a Facebook message from a friend of mine about doing voluntary work in Ethiopia. It was one of the best news I have ever gotten because that’s what was missing from my life.  So a group of us came up with the idea of creating a volunteerism organization called HOPE IN HELPING HANDS. We have done more than we have expected for the last Four years and we are motivated to do more and also partner up with other non-profit organization in Ethiopia to make sure kids get a proper care and education. The issues that children in Ethiopia face are some of the most challenging in the world. Being a part of this organization has changed my life in so many good ways. It made my pain go away. Glory to be God. We are a group young adults who feel obligated to give back and refused to see our young brothers and sisters grow up without education, without food, without a family. We don’t want to see children begging and sleeping in the streets. We want to bring joy, happiness and change into the lives of children in Ethiopia.

The reason I created this GoFundMe page is to raise money that I can take to Ethiopia with me at the End of December. The need for the money is, we have a lot donations and it would take a lot of money to take the luggage’s.

As you can see on the Video -

We would like to surprise the poor family with some money for food and the kids with some school supplies.

Build a basketball court for Yirg-alem students, one of the co-founder of HHH has worked with the  kids for a year. She is going to be there for another 9 months to teach kids English.

We would like to donate some money for non-profit organizations that are in need of help, such as Graceland rootsethiopia, and last but not least Sele-Enat.

Sele-Enat:  in order to keep their compound, they are expected to pay 25k for rent otherwise they will lose the orphanage to the government and the 80 kids that they take care of will be out on the streets of Addis Ababa because they don’t have enough funds coming into the orphanage’
I can’t tell you how much your support means to us, as we continue to open new doors for the children of Ethiopia. For those who have concerns about how exactly the money is going to be in use, we will be providing a detailed documents and a short documentary film when I return from Ethiopian in March.

Thank you for your support.
