Hopeful Hounds Haven

Tax deductible
RAD Rescue Inc needs your help making Hopeful Hounds Haven a reality.

We finally got some estimates for fencing, concrete, electrical and building supplies. While we will try to do as much labor as we can to save on costs, there are just some thing that we can not do. We are still getting estimates from people to find the best possible price, but need to start fundraising ASAP due to our time crunch. So far the estimates for construction only is coming in at around $30,000+.

This figure doesn’t include things like food, medical and enrichment, nor the amazingly generous land usage we've received from a loyal RAD Rescue supporter.  We are committed to taking care of these 14+ dogs until they pass or can be rehabilitated and adopted out into loving homes; ages range from 18 months to 12 years.

Their story: Six dogs were found in the desert and were taken in. They were not spayed or neutered and therefore kept breeding. I was told that they once reached almost 50 dogs in this small yard and then there was a tragic fire and some perished and some were lost. When one of the owners died there were 23 dogs left to care fore and the remaining owner decided he was unable to do so and reached out for help to Rockstar Rescue in Phx, Arizona. They came down to asses the situation and were quickly overwhelmed, but were able to save a pregnant dog as well as another female. They now have 3 of the original yard dogs and have recently adopted out the 7 puppies that were born. These dogs are thriving up there, which we are excited about.

PACC, HSSA and Hope stepped up to take the rest of the dogs. PACC took in 13 dogs, one of which was humanely euthanized, one went to Rockstar Rescue and one got adopted; ten remain. Hope took on 4 dogs and HSSA took on 5 dogs, two which have been adopted. RAD Rescue has agreed to take on the ten from PACC and the four from HOPE and will reach out to HSSA about their remaining yard dogs.

They have already been through so much, being taken from the only home they have ever know and then separated. Having to adjust to walking on a leash and being touched and handled. Hooch getting adopted and traveling roughly 40 miles over 3 weeks and losing half his body weight. NoNo getting adopted and escaping his yard, not once, but twice. We want to offer them a place where there is no rush, no stress, just reuniting them and letting them enjoy life. We will attempt to rehab the young ones and see if they adjust to living inside and being spoiled, but if they don’t like it, they can happily live out their days will us.

This is a lot of money to raise and we will gratefully accept any amount, no matter how small. We are 501c3 and therefore any donation is tax deductible and we will be happy to send you a receipt. If you can’t donate, don’t worry, just please share their story. Thanks to so many who have already helped in tremendous ways, especially the Decompression Program at PACC.
