Hope For Alisha

Donation protected
My name is Eileen, and I would like to introduce you to a friend of mine, Alisha Barnard.

Alisha is first of all a beautiful and intelligent woman, a supportive wife, a loving mom, a dear friend and a child of God.  She believes that this life is a gift and tries to use each day to bring the kingdom of God a little nearer. She gives to others at the cost of herself because she believes in loving God and loving others above all else.

Alisha has a genetic illness called Ehler's Danlos Syndrome. Her disease has caused a rare condition called Chronic Pseudo Bowel Obstruction, which has basically left her digestive system unable to work properly.   Her symptoms continue to rob her of time with her family and friends, energy and so many of the daily functions that we take for granted.  Alisha has been on a liquid diet since 2009 as her body is unable to process food properly.   Her body has slowly been getting weaker, thinner and less able to function.
Currently, the medical expenses to just sustain are extremely high.  Also, at the present time two new treatment plans are coming into place as well.  Alisha will start IGIV, an antibody infusion on a weekly basis. She also is traveling to the University of Nebraska in Omaha to meet with the center for gastric rehabilitation and transplant.
This could be life saving/life changing for her. This could bring about treatment options that would allow her body to use proper nutrition as fuel.  She will be traveling to Omaha in March for an appointment with the doctors and decide the best course of treatment. She will return in April for treatment.
We truly believe that these options offer HOPE. Hope is a scary and dangerous thing for all of us who love Alisha, but it is what she clings to in all things.  She has HOPE after this life with her Creator. That being said, she also has hope in this life and a determination to live abundantly as a wife to Jim,  a mom to 5 year-old Anderson, and friend to all who meet her.  She truly believes God is telling a story through all these trials. Can you be a part of this story?
We are looking to raise approximately $13,500 to help with the medical expenses associated with all current treatments and establishing and sustaining care in Omaha. If you are able to give, help, support or pray we covet your assistance.  Help us bring #hopeforAlisha.
