In April, Helen received the devasting news that her 16 month old son Harrision had a Wilms Tumor. After major surgery, he was prescribed chemotherapy.  While difficult, Harrison was responding well to this treatment until 6/20/17 when he very suddently developed a rare and life threatening side effect to the chemo.  As a result, Harrison went in to liver and renal failure which was made worse by a blood clotting disorder.  Currently, Harrison is on life support as the doctors carefully watch him and decide the best course of care.  Throughout all of this, Helen has remained a fierce advocate for her son and has demonstrated what it means to be a mother.  Her strength and bravery comes as no suprise to those that know her however these are dire circumstances.  Anything you can do to help Helen and Harrison would be greatly appreciated.

Hello everyone! Thank you, once again, for all your help and support. Let's keep it up! While receiving chemotherapy at Hershey Med, Harrison developed an affinity for the Caution Wet Floor signs found on the unit. It wasn't long before they became a normal part of his treatment. Many of us have been taking pictures of the Caution Wet Floor signs that we find in our travels as a sign of encouragement for Helen. If you see one, please take a pic, post it on your Facebook page with a link to this gofundme, tag Helen Fischman, and use the tag #Hopeforharrison. With your help, we'll reach more people and show Helen and Harrison that we're thinking of them.

Harrison update...
I am sorry I am delayed in updating everyone, although I realized real quick that you all are concerned so here is the last few days in brief... Harrison is still in liver failure and all attempts to by pass the liver have failed. He was diagnosed with a fungal infection called aspergillis, he is considered to have sepsis, he remains on a vent, sedated, on dialysis, and we have now added plasmaphresis. Late yesterday afternoon it was found that he had 2 pin holes in his stomach and had a terrible internal bleed. Back to the operating room we went to correct and stop the bleed. He is resting today to find out the next steps as far as we go. I promise to try to update daily. Although I hate giving you all the bad news and was hoping to have something good to report. Love to you all from Pittsburgh!!"
