Hope for Haiti Medical Mission Trip

Dear Friends & Family,

 As holiday season approaches my husband and I decided we are going to do a mission trip in Haiti with Mission of Hope. Especially after getting married we have far too many material things, and have felt a strong desire to help people who need it.  Haiti is the poorest country in the Western hemisphere. 30% of Haitains are living in food insecurity and in Haiti their life expectancy is only 63 years. (World Bank 2013) They are dealing with Cholera outbreaks, and the growth of children is being stunted do to severe malnutrition. They are living in extreme poverty with an absence of the medical care we take for granted here. Not to mention they are STRUGGLING to survive after the first devastating hurricane Katrina, and recently Hurricane Matthew.

  I am a Registered Nurse and will be working in the medical clinic in Haiti. Kevin will be helping assist doctors and nurses, as well as helping pray and play with orphan children. We both are so excited to be able to help and reach out to those in need. I am sure that what we experience there will be unlike anything we have seen before.

We are asking for your financial support in this mission. Instead of Christmas gifts or material things we would like assistance in this mission. Haiti needs us. We thank you in advance for any help possible as it is greatly appreciated. If you cannot help financially please say a prayer for the people of Haiti, as Americans we will never understand the suffering they are enduring.

Finances Needed: $625 each for the cost of the trip (food, shelter etc), $700 each for the flight, and the remaining $350 will be used for the supplies we need to bring to the medical clinic. Supplies needed include medications, food, medical supplies, diapers, pens, and more.
