Hope for Erin- Medical Expenses

I've had the pleasure to know Erin for a short time... She has impacted many in her life with her positive energy and smile. Her heart is huge and her family and friends are all asking for help on her new journey. Please read her story below.

Erin D’Addio has been battling optic nerve meningioma since she was 8 years old. When she was 14, she underwent a frontal temporal craniotomy to remove the tumor. That surgery left her completely blind in her right eye. A year later, another meningioma began growing and was removed surgically. She went for routine checkups and MRIs to monitor her health and for many years lived a normal life.  Then in 2002, residual tumor began growing again and she underwent radiation therapy. She was healthy for 12 years and then again in 2014, a new meningioma started growing in her left optic nerve cutting off the vision to her only seeing eye. She again underwent radiation therapy and lost partial vision from this treatment. In spite of all of this she pursued her dreams, was married, graduated college and become a teacher. Erin became involved with the Children’s Cancer Center and the 1Voice Foundation as a volunteer, working with children with cancer and their families.  In 2015, Erin decided to take her career a step further and become a Reading Coach for the School District of Hillsborough County, Florida.  She began the 2016-2017 school year as the Reading Coach for Ballast Point and Sullivan Elementary in Tampa, Florida.
Then at the beginning of October, Erin began having vision problems. She had an emergency MRI and it was concluded that a new, more aggressive tumor was growing. She is awaiting the results of the biopsy, but the options to treat this tumor are dismal.  All options will most likely leave her permanently blind for the rest of her life. She has had to take a leave of absence from her new position and is weighing her options and treatment plans.

Your donation will impact Erin and her way of life in a positive way. All we want is for Erin to be able to focus on her healing instead of medical expenses. She is currently selling all of her teaching materials to help with her financial situation.
Erin's entire family- which includes her immediate family, her extended family, and her school family and friends will be grateful for your support. This is one way to give back to someone who has given us so much with her heart, smile and laughter. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
