Hope For Drake TPIAT

Donation protected
Three years ago my son, Drake Hazlewood, had his first attack of pancreatitis which would be one of many. It started when he was 11 and February of this year he turned 14. I'm a single mother of three young boys trying her best to support all of them with a full time job. I have used all my paid time off from work having to be off with him while he has had multiple hospital stays for what is now diagnosed as chronic pancreatitis. I will be off from work for 12 weeks for his major operation In July at Cincinnati Children's hospital and who knows how long or many times after our 12 weeks. He is having a TPIAT which will involve removing his pancreas, spleen, gall bladder and appendix, then transplanting the Islet cells, they produce insulin, into his liver. Hopefully within a year his liver will take over and produce insulin, but he will NOT HAVE THE PAIN HE HAS EXPERIENCED with pancreatitis or be at high risk for pancreatic cancer! It is an 8-12 hour surgery. We were told we would have to be there 12 weeks. Then multiple visits for checkups and tests!!! Bills will still be piling in no matter what our situation is. He will have a lot of health issues for the first year or two after his surgery which will require me to be off from work a lot without pay. My FMLA only allows so much and I have used quite a bit of it already. It only guarantees me I have a job! I don't know if I will be let go after the time runs out. And it's all without pay! Please help fund us as we are about to begin this journey of hope for a better life pain free!
