Honoring a Navy SEAL Legend...

Donation protected
What:
This page has been established to raise funds for the family of David “Pai” Pa’a’aina. They will use these funds to aid in travel and funeral expenses.  The Pa’a’aina family would like to express their gratitude and sincere appreciation for all those who contribute to this fundraiser.

Who:
Pai was a native Hawaiian, Retired Navy SEAL Senior Chief and Vietnam combat veteran, father, grandfather, mentor, and friend. He resided in the Kapoho area on the Big Island of Hawaii and he passed away, unexpectedly, on June, 1, 2018, at the age of 68. Prior to his death he was forced to evacuate his home, which, unfortunately, was destroyed by the Kilauea lava flow. Sadly, all of his financial and military records, mementos, photographs, and family heirlooms were lost in the fire.

Pai lived his life to the fullest and all those who knew him were drawn to his magnetic charm, witty - light up the room -sense of humor, and infectious smile.  He chose to be a warrior and he dedicated himself to that profession. As a Navy SEAL his enigmatic presence captivated those around him. Within the SEAL community he was truly-unique and his reputation always preceded him. Those teammates who witnessed his exploits would often describe him as a living legend. He was known for his wealth of knowledge and combative skills, but he was equally known for his generosity and huge heart.  With a rare selflessness, he would give a helping hand to anyone in need (whether they knew it or not). Pai was the embodiment of the Aloha Spirit. He embraced all those fortunate to know him as Ohana.

When&Where:
A private ceremony will be held on the island of Moku o Lo’e (Coconut Island - located off the coast of Oahu), which is where he was raised  prior to his enlistment.

The Pa’a’aina family would like all to know that the  UDT-SEAL Museum in Ft Pierce, Florida, will honor the memory of Retired Navy Senior Chief SEAL David Pa’a’aina  All are invited to share in his memory.
