The Honor Flight - INLAND EMPIRE has been, and is, dedicated to sending Veterans to Washington, DC to visit their War Memorials.
Presently we are sending WWII Heroes & Sheroes on this all expense paid trip to say 'Thank You' for their Service.
Our efforts began in 2010 when several thousand applications were received with the earliest date of 2007. In May 2015 we will be sending 20 Veterans on our 9th flight when we realize over 150 Veterans receiving this trip from the INLAND EMPIRE! We provide wheelchairs for any Veteran along with trained Guardians that pay their own way, after being trained for this task. So far, we have sent Veterans between 82 and 101 years young!!
The current waiting list holds approximately 300 WWII applications. They could all realize this "trip of a lifetime" with three (3) flights. With the usual cost per Veteran being close to $1100, the waitlist could be depleted before the end of 2016. Our flying season is between May and September due to East Coast weather conditions, but sending more flights closer together is possible.
When all the WWII Veterans have taken this trip, we will begin flying Veterans from Korea, Viet Nam and later campaigns. We appreciate all the help we can get and Thank You for any size donation.
As a side note: Letters to Veterans can be sent to the email for their direct receipt.
