Honker's Funeral Fund

Our father, Kim Casey, has been an avid hunter nearly his entire life. When he wasnt working for his family masonry business as we were growing up, he was hard at work on making goose calls, showing his kids how to hunt, or spending time in the woods on his tree stand. As a result of our upbringing, his kids grew up knowing there was much more than city life available to us. We spent time at fish camp in Mt. Holly, we spent time hunting deer, and we grew up with an appreciation for things outside of the norm. He was hard to take seriously at times because of some of the off the wall things he would do and say, but when you were feeling sad or upset, he was one of those people that knew exactly what to do or say to let you know that he had your back. He never cared much about material possessions at all, managed to make the best of what he had, and was always more concerned about his kids than anything else.

This is what brings us all to GoFundMe right now.

Our father passed away in the morning of August 4th, 2019 from complications that escalated from pneumonia up to an infection of his blood stream. Over the few days leading up to this, he put up the best fight he possibly could, but ultimately went to be with our Lord and his daughter/our sister Karlie Casey. Unfortunately, before he passed, the family had not been planning for losing him so soon, so funds to afford a proper funeral and burial are going to be a challenge. We have faith that things will come together and we can give this man the best possible funeral service, but we are admitting that we could really use help. Anything you can do to help would be appreciated, and 100% of the funds for this campaign are going directly to the costs of this funeral. Vinny, Rylinn, and Karsyn are navigating this together, so aside from any financial advice, we appreciate everyone that has been there for us through this, and continues to be with us during our time of need.

As of now, we are operating under estimates that we received from the funeral home. The main option that we have that we wanted will see costs in excess of $11,500, but would involve laying our father to rest in the same cemetery as his parents/our grandparents. We are sharing this just to keep everyone informed in case the goal of this campaign changes - either way, we will use the funds directly for what this campaign is setup for.
