Homelessness in Victoria, BC

Growing up in Victoria meant that downtown was the "coolest" hangout. While all my friends and I walked around, ate and had fun in the beautiful city, there was a bigger issue right in front of our faces. 

Homelessness in Victoria is one of the most problematic issues for our city. Instead of trying to find solutions, we just keep using "band-aids" to cover these problems. However, the issue of homelessness isn't anything that is unreachable to defeat. With 50 million dollars, which is only $11 per household, the organizations could be supplied with the support they need to fix something that affects us all.

As a 16 year old boy, I feel it is well within my ability to play my part in helping our people. With the summer camp of Powerful Youth, I have created a project to supply the homeless of Downtown Victoria with winter clothes. 

Together, we can put homelessness behind us.
