HOMELESS DOGS IN NEED OF HELP FROM PR
Hello everyone,I am trying to raise money independently to save these two dogs (satos) that were found last night in Rincon, Puerto Rico. I was vacationing and saw the Shepard mix passed out at the bar looking extremely depressed and hungry and knew that this dog was a stray. His partner in crime I found a bit later and she is the little lady black lab mix. They have been roaming a very busy area in Rincon for the past couple weeks and no organization or foster parent is able to take them in due to overcapacity. They have been living near the busy bar called Calypso and have been really pushing the limits by living/sleeping on the side of a very busy road.
I met this amazing girl last night Tiah that fosters dogs independently and also volunteers with the local rescue ARF (Animal Rescue Foundation Rincon) who helped me raise $100 on the streets last night to basically beg a local veterinary technician to foster these two dogs for the next 10 days. The foster is only able to keep them for 8 DAYS which means they will be put back on the street if we can't find them a home ASAP.
In the worst case scenario and there is no forever homes available within the next 8 days then this money will absolutely go towards food for them, vaccines, spay/neuter, and maybe even giving them a little more time in foster care in PR if anyone is available.
I'm hoping soon someone will step up and want them or even foster them. I would take them in and so would Tiah but, we are unable to have anymore pets due to our land lords rules and regulations while renting. We are basically maxed out with pets and need to find these sweet babies a home since we can't personally take them.
Here are some facts if your confused why I am raising money for dogs in Puerto Rico...If you don't know already there are over 200,000 stray dogs in Puerto Rico. These dogs are roaming busy streets where people actually hit them for fun, getting tortured, have no food/water, no love, they have nothing...It is a sin that this happens everyday and it's heartbreaking to not be able to save them all. I know it's hard for people to comprehend why save a dog in Puerto Rico when they can save a dog in the United States. Puerto Rico is U.S. territory. This madness would not be happening in the states. There are many loving, caring, compassionate people in PR as well that put their energy into loving and saving the dogs but, they can only do so much.
I am trying to raise money independently so I can try get these two beautiful loving babies money for vet bills (spay/neuter), vaccinations, flight airfares (if we can find someone to take them whether it's foster care of a forever home), crates, and even money to help the woman who is fostering them right now for the next 10 days since that is all she can do. A few dollars goes a long way.
So, since i'm doing this independently and trying to find a foster/forever home for these two babies I need help BIG TIME. The Shepard mix is a male around a year old and the black lab mix is a female around a year old as well. Help me help get these dogs off the streets and all the money donated will 110% go to foster care, vaccines, spay/neuter, food, and if we find them a forever home it will also go towards the flight expenses and health certificates needed by a vet for them to be approved to fly. I also have been contacting non-kill shelters in the event I can't find them fosters or a home in the time crunch I am in. All the money will be donated towards getting them off the streets and if there is any left over if we have a successful rescue story whether it's getting them in a home/foster/non-kill shelter I will donate the rest of the money to the organizations Island Dog and ARF to help them continue what they are doing since I have seen with my own eyes what these organizations do.
I know they're two random dogs that you have no idea about, but their two loving souls that need a home forever. If their put back on the streets they are forced to fend for themselves or they will be put into a shelter to be euthanized. The bigger dogs get euthanized first since everyone who actually wants a dog down there usually always want puppies.
Thank you,
Ashley & the satos of Puerto Rico <3
