I am a high school teacher in Black Mountain/Swannanoa North Carolina. My student is currently living with her 82 year old grandmother. They have been living in a shed for the past 6 months. Their electricity comes from an extention cord running to the house next door. Their water comes from a hose. With the winter weather coming, they have been told by the building inspector that their living situation is unfit (which it is) and they have been force to leave. My student and her grandmother have been living in a hotel for the past two months and would like permenant housing. They have found a small "tiny home" with monthly payments that are affordable with grandma's disability payments. Thank you all for the $10,000 we have already raised. The foundation has been laid and the cabin is being delivered on January 12th. Aditional funds would be helpful to continue to pay for temporary housing during the month of January while the cabin is being completed. You generosity is so greatly appreciated! Once the cabin is completed, grandmother will owe $10,000 to completely pay off the cabin. Any aditional funds that we raise will go towards paying off the cabin. Grandmother's health is not good and we want to make sure she and my student have a place to live.
